These targeted neutralizing antibodies can, in theory, help slow an infection in someone who is sick or prevent an infection in someone who is exposed to the virus. These special cows are injected with what essentially amounts to a coronavirus vaccine that will then cause them to try to fight off what the body sees as an infection - and they will "produce a specifically targeted high-neutralizing antibody that can be used in patients," says SAB CEO Eddie Sullivan. They are cows that have been given genes from the human immune system that make antibodies. Now it's making them with the aim of treating or even preventing COVID-19. The company has made polyclonal antibodies to treat influenza and MERS. These are a collection of different antibodies that a body makes to ward off a specific invading organism. SAB Biotherapeutics is in the business of making what are known as polyclonal antibodies. It turns out, cows may play an important role in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cows with genes from the human immune system make antibodies that may help people fight the coronavirus.

5/30/2023 0 Comments Live free or die by john ringoThe problem is that this is a very, very thinly disguised piece of EXTREMELY right wing propaganda. This is a very mediocre sci fi romp, not awful, not a work of literature either. Troy Rising is a book in three parts- Live Free or Die being the first part-detailing the freeing of earth from alien conquerors, the first steps into space using off-world technologies and the creation of Troy, a thousand trillion ton battlestation designed to secure the solar system. And he has bigger plans than just getting rid of the Horvath. A hero unwilling to back down to alien or human governments, unwilling to live in slavery and with enough hubris, if not stature, to think he can win. To free the world from the grip of the Horvath is going to take an unlikely hero. With their control of the orbitals, there's no way to win and earth's governments have accepted the status quo. Since then, they've held Terra as their own personal fiefdom. When the Horvath came through, they announced their ownership by dropping rocks on three cities and gutting them. Who Controls the Orbitals, Controls the World But the first aliens to come through, the Glatun, were peaceful traders and the world breathed a sigh of relief. When aliens trundled a gate to other worlds into the solar system, the world reacted with awe, hope and fear. Battling man-eating monsters, violent storms, and the supernatural seductions of sirens and sorceresses, Odysseus will need all his strength and cunning-and a little help from Mount Olympus-to make his way home and seize his kingdom from the schemers who seek to wed his queen and usurp his throne. Instead, he offends the sea god, Poseidon, who dooms him to years of shipwreck and wandering. Vivid and exciting, this graphic novel is a worthy new interpretation of Homer’s epic."-Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians seriesįresh from his triumphs in the Trojan War, Odysseus, King of Ithaca, wants nothing more than to return home to his family. "Gareth Hinds brings The Odyssey to life in a masterful blend of art and storytelling. With bold imagery and an ear tuned to the music of Homer’s epic poem, Gareth Hinds reinterprets the ancient classic as it’s never been told before. 5/30/2023 0 Comments Transcend by Jewel E. Setting the bar higher with every book, this prolific writer is her own best competitor. I can buy it for 3.99$ and die a happy gal, cause nobody.and I mean NOBODY sates my heart as Jewel does with her unique writing and unconventional stories. The character in the book said you can’t buy a happily ever after … you can’t buy love. My next HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, MUST READ BOOK that y'all have to GRAB!! 5/30/2023 0 Comments Colourless tsukuruBut here the author strips away the magical quavers of reality and the mind-bending plot structures that have become hallmarks of his work. Like most of his work, from the cyberpunk-fantasy-detective hybrid "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" to the unwieldy and otherworldly three-volume marathon "1Q84," this new novel chronicles a spiritual quest that might also be a love story. Murakami has won international audiences and prizes by writing a kind of shamanistic science fiction of everyday life. The pilgrimage makes a fine metaphor for its hero's journey, but perhaps an even better one for the author's. The "pilgrimage" of Haruki Murakami's latest novel, "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage," translates literally as a "reverent perambulation." In this traditional Japanese practice, one dons white robes symbolic of ascetic simplicity, leaves excess baggage behind and gives oneself over to the rhythms and vicissitudes of travel. 5/30/2023 0 Comments Rhythm of war part twoI loved being back in this world and with these characters, I loved getting so many more answers, and I loved being reduced to an emotional wreck time and time again. I still have so many questions! And I need more time with all of these precious characters, especially Kaladin! How am I supposed to survive two whole years without any new Kaladin content? □Īnyway, needless to say, I loved Rhythm of War. This has definitely become one of my favorite fantasy series, and I don’t even know how I’m going to survive the wait until the next book comes out. I did it, guys! As far as The Stormlight Archive is concerned, I am finally all caught up! I mean, maybe not all caught up, since there are still the novellas, but I have now read all of the main four books, and, let me tell you, I’m OBSESSED. Of course the Parshendi wanted to play their drums. 5/30/2023 0 Comments Cold Welcome by Elizabeth MoonCold Welcome (Vatta’s Peace, #1) by Elizabeth Moon – eBook Detailsīefore you start Complete Cold Welcome (Vatta’s Peace, #1) PDF EPUB by Elizabeth Moon Download, you can read below technical ebook details: Yet even as Ky leads her team from one crisis to another, her family and friends refuse to give up hope, endeavoring to mount a rescue from halfway around the planet-a task that is complicated as Ky and her supporters find secrets others will kill to protect: a conspiracy infecting both government and military that threatens not only her own group’s survival but her entire home planet. I read it before the pandemic and after it had begun, and it was just as strong both times.īecoming Horses by Disa Wallander: This book made me feel like I was inside a painting, and not like those dumb immersive Van Gogh experiences. Both Leyh’s writing and her astonishing art combine to make this transcend YA lit into a book everyone, everyone, everyone should read. It’s not gentle, but it is amazingly kind. When I think about it, I feel like I have a pair of Hot Hands embedded in the middle of my chest - that is to say, there is a weird, slightly uncomfortable warm glow inside me because this book has so much heart. Snapdragon by Kat Leyh: Quite possibly the best book of the year. I think these things are still good, though, and they’re listed (sort of) in the order in which I read them. Remembering something for 2 seconds and then promptly forgetting it again. Someone described it to me as “goldfish brain,” and that’s what it felt like. Here are 10-ish comics things that got me through this awful, discombobulating year, in which I probably read fewer comics than any other year because I was busy spending my time texting people about elections or rage-crying in the parking lot of the grocery store or trying to get my kids through virtual school. 5/29/2023 0 Comments Kashana cauley the survivalistsBut is it?Īaron is a survivalist-essentially a doomsday prepper, and his roommates Brittany and James have built a bunker in their backyard. When she meets Aaron, roaster for Tactical Coffee, on a dating app, everything seems like it’s written in the stars. She wants to make partner at her law firm, not because it’s what she really wants, but because it’s what she thinks it’s what she’s supposed to want, and she wants to meet the perfect guy, because deep down, she’s lonely. Protagonist Aretha has it all-a so-called “good job” at a corporate law firm, a best friend, Nia, who is a well-off private practice therapist, and an active dating life, but she still craves more. The Survivalists by Kashana Cauley ruthlessly interrogates what it means to be successful as a Black woman, a Millennial, and a liberal living in an urban center. 5/29/2023 0 Comments Crown duel bookIn war, at least, she knew whom she could trust.
